The Garden Railway

"...a non electrified freight and diversionary passenger route somewhere in North Yorkshire..."

At last! After 40 years, I have my "00" gauge garden railway.... having had two daughters I never had an excuse for a "train set", until my great nephew came along. Three years old and mad on trains...perfect! "...Just setting up a bit of track in the garden for the boy, dear..."

Still a long way to go with landscaping, ballasting, electrics and control, but as you can see from the pics it's getting there! Approx 150 feet of continuous loop lets me run satisfyingly lengthy trains, and in the dusk and dark even more so thanks to headlights, tail lights and illuminated cabs!

Obviously weather restricts operations, but there is always something to do - not least trying to stop birds strafing the track with you know what!

Anyway, if you have ever wanted a pic of your favourite 00 "set" running on a decent length of track, hide it in your suitcase when you come to Dale End...weather permitting!
